Space Exploration

How to get here

The first thing you need to understand is that survival in space is drastically different from life on Earth. Here’s what you need to know:

1. The Rocket

  • Essential for Travel: The Rocket is the most crucial item in space exploration. It allows you to switch between planets and is portable, so you can take it with you wherever you go.

Always keep your Rocket handy for easy planet-switching, but remember, it won’t help you survive without proper protective equipment.

2. Protective Equipment

There are three primary ways to survive in the vacuum of space:

Oxygen Masks and Oxygen Tanks

  • Oxygen Masks: Worn as a helmet with infinite durability, but by itself, the mask won’t keep you alive. You’ll need an oxygen tank to go with it.

  • Oxygen Tanks: Available in three tiers—Light, Medium, and Heavy—each tank holds progressively more oxygen. Keep a tank in your inventory to supply oxygen to your mask.

  • Sustainability: Oxygen Tanks are not a long-term solution unless you have a Tank Refiller to recharge them.

Spacesuits

  • Airtight Enchantment: This custom enchantment ensures your armor holds pressure in space. You’ll need all four armor pieces (helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots) enchanted with Airtight to survive.

  • Suit Fabricator: The easiest way to obtain a fully functional spacesuit. It can create Voyager and Rogue armor sets, which allow for infinite breathing in space with just a few easy-to-find resources.

Staying for a While: Setting Up a Space Base

  • For longer stays on a planet, you’ll need to set up a base with an energy and oxygen system. Let’s dive into how you can do that.

Building a Space Base

If you plan on staying on a planet for an extended period, you’ll need to establish a safe habitat. This involves setting up energy generation, oxygen supply, and other essentials to create a sustainable environment.

1. Power Generation

  • Solar Panels: These are your primary source of energy. Solar Panels generate power during the day and store it internally. The stored energy can be used to power various machines.

  • Connection: To use the energy, connect your Solar Panels to other machines using Conduits.

2. Oxygen Supply

  • Oxygen Collector: This machine gathers oxygen from the surrounding environment, particularly from nearby leaves. It converts power (from your Solar Panels or another power source) into oxygen and stores it within the machine.

  • Oxygen Bubble Distributor: This machine uses the collected oxygen to create a breathable bubble around your base. It also requires energy to operate.

3. Conduits and Connections

  • Conduits: These are essential for transferring energy, oxygen, and coolant between machines. Connecting a Solar Panel to your Oxygen Collector and then to the Oxygen Bubble Distributor ensures a steady supply of oxygen in your base.

4. Setting Up Your Base

  • Step 1: Place your Solar Panels in a sunny area to generate power.

  • Step 2: Use Conduits to connect the Solar Panels to the Oxygen Collector.

  • Step 3: Connect the Oxygen Collector to the Oxygen Bubble Distributor using more Conduits.

  • Step 4: Ensure your base is within the oxygen bubble created by the Oxygen Bubble Distributor to stay safe and breathe easily.
