Septimus (Levels 60–72): The Seven-Gated City

Core Amenities

Septimus is physically divided by seven thematic gates. The Seven Seals Library has seven wings, each sealed behind a symbolic door. Head Keeper Aelion runs gate-quests that unlock wing access progressively. The Heptagon Wayring requires attunement to one of seven elemental aspects before teleporting (attunement lasts 1 hour, grants minor bonuses). The Sevenfold Lock has seven distinct locks (magical, mechanical, biological, etc.) requiring puzzle-solving each session to open.

Signature District: Seven-Gated City

Each gate leads to a distinct micro-region:

  1. Gate of Crypts (death/undead theme): Skeletal creatures, ancient tombs, resurrection mechanics

  2. Gate of Dunes (desert/time theme): Sand elementals, temporal distortion, mirage mechanics

  3. Gate of Fens (nature/growth theme): Plant creatures, poisonous swamps, symbiosis quests

  4. Gate of Cliffs (stone/endurance theme): Stone golems, altitude mechanics, climbing challenges

  5. Gate of Flames (fire/passion theme): Fire elementals, lava zones, heat mechanics

  6. Gate of Tides (water/change theme): Water creatures, current mechanics, transformation quests

  7. Gate of Stars (magic/divinity theme): Magical beings, celestial themes, prophecy quests

Clearing all seven gate-quests grants a Weekly Treasure Chest (worth ~3000 gold).

Unique NPC: Gatekeeper Seris

Seris manages the seven-gate chain, granting:

  • Seris's Blessing (permanent +2% all stats)

  • Inner Sanctum access (exclusive merchant selling rare items)

  • Gate-Walker title (cosmetic badge)

  • Weekly chest key (opens chest worth ~3000 gold)

Surrounding Zones and Dungeons

Seven surrounding zones mirror the gates (Crypt Hollows, Shifting Sands, Verdant Marshes, Ironpeak Ridge, Volcanic Wastes, Tidal Swamps, Starlit Peaks). The Eternal Sanctum (main dungeon, levels 68–72, 10 floors) requires solving all seven gate mechanics simultaneously. The final boss The Gatekeeper Prime (600 HP) cycles through seven elemental phases, each requiring distinct mechanics from its corresponding gate. This boss is a culmination of everything learned in Septimus.
